We have a research library at the Museum containing material pertaining to the regiment and the collections. We receive enquiries from all over the world, mostly regarding family history and genealogy but from time to time we receive enquiries from television companies requesting content for documentaries, authors wishing to verify factual information and also from students researching their dissertations.
The Gordon Highlanders Museum is a registered charity and is dependent upon grants and donations. Therefore it is necessary to make a charge for enquiries but we only do so where we can provide a positive reply. Any fees and method of payment will be notified to you for approval before research work is undertaken. Please do not send money with your enquiry as the charge levied is dependent on how much information we have available, e.g. whether there are photographs, etc.
As this service is processed by part-time volunteers please be aware it may take up to 10 weeks to fulfil your enquiry, longer if there are any follow up enquiries required. However, if you have not been contacted by a Researcher before the expiry of 10 weeks you can assume that the Museum does not hold any information on the subject of your enquiry and we are unable to assist you on this occasion. If however you are able to provide additional information at a subsequent time please feel free to contact us again.
Please consult the drop down menu to the left to help with your enquiry.
